On July 19, 2014, Reverend Anthony E. Owens was elected Pastor of the Liberty Baptist Church.
Reverend Owens preached to the church as Pastor-Elect for the first time on August 31, 2014. It was at that time when he and his lovely wife joined Liberty. On March 8, 2015, he was installed as the 8th Pastor of Liberty Baptist Church. On March 5, 2020, he resigned from the pastorate of Liberty Baptist Church in Washington, D.C., continuing to promote the ministries of his former church, a website designed to do so, at Rev. Anthony E. Owens Ministries.
Reverend Owens was educated in the District of Columbia's public schools, attending Hendley Elementary School, Hart Junior High School, and Ballou Senior High School. After graduating from Ballou Senior High School in June 1977, Reverend Owens attended the University of the District of Columbia. He majored in Computer Science, later finishing his studies at Potomac College in the District of Columbia in 2001, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Management. He immediately enrolled in the Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C., in January 2002.
In June 2003, the Paramount Baptist Church of Washington, D.C., his former church, licensed Reverend Owens to preach God's Gospel. In September 2007, Reverend Owens was ordained to the Gospel Ministry. He graduated from Wesley Theological Seminary in May 2008 with a Master's in Divinity, emphasizing Urban Ministry. He is attending Trinity College of the Bible and Theological Seminary in Evansville, IN, pursuing a doctorate in ministry.
Reverend Owens is the founder of Rev. Anthony E. Owens Ministries LLC, created during COVID-19 when the truth was distorted in the United States of America. This ministry answers life's questions from the word of God.
Reverend Owens is on the Board of Directors of the American Dental Group. Our mission is to educate youth and adults on the importance of dental health and train them in the area of dental professionals.
Reverend Owens is married to Margaret, and they are the proud parents of Kristian and Aaron.
